All insects contain 4 parts: 6 legs, 3 body parts, an exoskeleton, and a antenna. Some insects have additional parts that are compound eyes, and wings.

Why are insects so successful?
Insects have been around the earth for 400 million years, so they have a successful track record

Most insects have the ability to camouflage themselves. This means they can blend into the resources around them so they can attack their predator, or not be attacked by another insect.

Lastly, insects are so successful because their legs are adapted for springing, running, swimming, digging and grasping. Having these legs helps the insects escape from predators, and catch their prey.

From the science labs we completed in class with the cockroaches, I have learned that cockroaches hiss because they are trying to find their mate.

I also learned that cockroaches have 6 legs, and when they cockroaches move, the left front leg and the right middle leg move at the same time and vise versa.

Lastly, I learned that cockroaches like to hang out in dark places, like hiding under leaves because the cockroaches like the dark.

The cockroaches have adaptations like having 6 legs, that help them in the wild because it helps them escape from their predator.

As you can see, there are a lot of interesting facts about insects.
