WHY ARE INSECTS SUCCESSFUL?

  • There are morse insects then any other species combined
  • Exoskeleton has 3 parts: Head, Abdomen, Thorax
  • Insects have many different mouth parts
  • Their antennae can sense many things around them
  • Plants would die without any insects

WHY ARE INSECTS SUCCESSFUL?

  • Insects are very diverse
  • Insects dont have any lungs
  • Insects blood doesnt carry oxygen
  • Their thorax helps with mobility
  • Their abdomen carries all off their guts

  • Bees and flys have a set of compound eyes
  • Eyes provide insects with information about light and the environment
  • Their simple eyes register changes in light only
  • Major preditors
  • The process of skin molting is metamorphosis
