Project Based Learning

  • Students work on a project over an extended period of time (from a week up to a semester) that engages them in solving a real-world problem or answering a complex question. They demonstrate their knowledge and skills by developing a public product or presentation for a real audience.

Project Based Learning

  • students develop deep content knowledge as well as critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills in the context of doing an authentic, meaningful project
  • students and teachers can show their creativity

Inquiry Based Learning

  • activates student curiosity
  • students are able to answer their own questions by performing experiments or research
  • incorporates new and fresh perspectives on an idea

Steps to Inquiry Based Learning

  • Students develop questions that they are hungry to answer
  • Research the topic using time in class
  • Have students present what they’ve learned
  • Ask students to reflect on what worked about the process and what didn’t

  • form of cooperative argumentative dialogue between individuals, based on asking and answering questions to stimulate critical thinking and to draw out ideas and underlying presumptions
