Recently Hotel Spa group Landhotel enhanced their facilities further by having the GPS Platinum Golf Simulator installed at their Birchenhof resort in the East of Germany. With many guests wishing to play golf it was felt important to install the highest quality golf simulator on the market.

The resort boasts superb spa offering to its guests such as wellness centre, spa treatments, swimming pools, saunas, treatment rooms, beauty clinic and several gourmet restaurants

Hämeenlina Aulanko is the first hotel in Finland to install the HD Super Simulator, which is being run independently to maximum revenues from guests wishing to play rounds of golf or being entertained playing different sports.

The HD Super Simulator complements the existing leisure offerings, such as 6-lane bowling, modern spa, wellness clinic, fitness centre and horseback riding. The hotel is located close to Helsinki beside a beautiful lake and many golf courses.

German Ultimate Academy

One German client has recently installed the GPS Ultimate Golf Academy, so that he is able to
get a complete analysis of his own performance. As he is able to instantly review his swing performance and his own shot performance.

This has resulted in his handicap reducing from 24 to a respectable 16 in a matter of months, by working on his own technique for 2 hours a
day.

In the evenings he is able to invite friends and work colleagues around, to play on any of 170 FAMOUS GOLF courses AROUND the WORLD.

Indiana Games Room

Recently a property management company located in Indianapolis, in the United States has installed a games room amenity at their
commercial property. So they can entice prospective buyers to visit the building, as they are able to play on the
GPS SILVER GOLF SIMULATOR.

After playing around on one of the many TOP courses around the WORLD,
the sales executive is able to discuss the opportunity to purchase or rent the commercial property on offer.

The property management company intends to replicate the same set-up at offer buildings around the state of Indiana.

BMW Experience Centre

BMW have installed a SPORTS COACH SUPER SIMULATOR at their flagship dealership in Vienna, as the major attraction to encourage existing and new clients into their brand new facility.

A custom design graphics user interface was developed, to maximise the BMW branding within the experience. By introducing the SUPER SIMULATOR the dealership becomes fully interactive and is able to offer various sporting events at the dealership, so reducing marketing costs with in house events and maximizing car sales.

Soccerex Global Convention is the World’s largest football business event, seeing the global leaders in the business of football come together to debate, network and do business in Manchester.

The centre piece of the convention was the world’s only Surround HD Sports Simulator, which was well tested by many famous ex-players and football clubs alike. As they felt it was ideal for stadium tours, training players at clubs and academies and the many different commercial applications, for generating decent revenue.

Soccer Golf allows players to kick real footballs, in realistic golf courses, within their own chosen golf courses, enabling contests can be easily run for both fun and competition purposes, with results displayed on the leader board.


The Soccer Golf is great fun to play, with the drives and shots over 200 yards, given a power launch, so that firm kicks can fly down the fairway with ease. The Racing Simulator has all the latest driver controls that are fully adjustable such the driving positon for the genuine race seat, steering wheel controls, gear shift controls and race pedals.

Camera Technology
 
Two High Speed Cameras work simultaneously at separate 90 degree angles to create the world's most accurate 3 dimensional ball flight model.
 
The micro cameras utilize high quality CMOS sensors, capturing up to 1,000 frames per second produced at 60Hz. With each powerful lens producing a wide telephoto angle of view, capturing multiple images of the ball from impact, through the air and towards the screen.
 
Tracking the golf ball very accurately in up to 30 separate positions, from original strike point for 3m or 10 feet of the ball flight. Whilst the golf club is also tracked for 0.6m or 2 feet, before impact on the follow through. This enables the simulator software to exactly mirror the golfer's ball flight and swing performance.

Camera Data
 
The overhead high speed camera tracks the ball from impact and alerts the software that the ball has been hit.

At the same time it records the exact data relating to the horizontal launch angle, club speed, ball spin, swing path and face angle relative to the target line. This camera is also used for putting when the software is in putting mode.

The data is sent at high speed via a USB2 interface to the computer's enhanced host controller, enabling the software to instantly produce the 3 dimensional ball flight.The side high speed camera constantly tracks the golf ball from impact as it travels towards the screen.

Accurately measuring the vertical launch angle, the ball speed and the ball spin to the point that all bad and good shots are registered producing the very highest of lob shots to the shots hit along the ground. In game play or practice, the choice of using a wedge or a seven iron from off the green illustrates this performance of producing the shots and trajectory you would expect to see.

The ball speed is so accurately measured to produce the carry of the ball through the air. Again the data is sent to the computer through a high speed USB2 port connection using a 2nd host controller, so that the information is instantly analyzed and not affected by the data from the overhead camera.

Realism

During development of the high speed camera system, many tour players, good amateurs and club golfers were used to test the playing of the simulator. In all cases they were amazed at the accuracy of the system as each player re-produced shots on the simulator they did on the golf course. The hooks, slices and even the occasional shank was seen, if not liked. When it comes to chipping and putting then the system is way out in front of any simulator on the market. Playing from just off the green and using a range of clubs from 6 iron to lob wedge, the cameras will accurately detect the flight of the shot determining if run or back spin is generated.

You will be amazed by the pin point precision of the shots produced which mirrors the shots played outdoors. Putting has now been developed to the same level of chipping. There is no delay in seeing the ball on the screen due to it having to travel a certain distance to be seen. If you have a putt of one foot or one meter as used on the US, European and Asian tours and is available for adjustment in the default settings. This setting enables you to make the greens as quick or as slow as you want while adjusting the green hardness at the same time.

Course Creation

Sports Coach Systems specialize in golf course mapping and currently have over 150 courses in the library with another 48 under development. Many of these courses are featured on the European and US tours and give all golfers the opportunity to play famous courses from around the world.

Sports Coach Systems have the ability to map out existing courses or ones that are currently in the form of architects drawings, photographs of the surrounding area, together with global mapping helps the developer or owner to establish the golf courses for marketing well in advance of actual play.

At this stage, alterations can be made to the design of the course when played on the simulator in advance of any constructions, saving time and moneyThe attention to detail enables the golfer not only to play courses and holes they recognize but with the high speed camera system play them 365 days a year, whatever the weather.

The library of over 150 courses mapped by Sports Coach are now a real test with the realism of shot making on undulating fairways in changing weather conditions where the accuracy of the high speed camera system shows its performance to perfection.

We have created over 151 football stadiums from around the world to add both realism and give football fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in their own club's stadium on the football simulator. As well as being a fun to play, the football simulator also acts as a powerful training tool. There are six football simulator challenges, with others being developed.

Choose Penalty Kicks to successfully defeat the goalie from the penalty spot, Target Practice to score as many points as you can by striking the ball at moving targets, Crossbar to practice distance shots to the crossbar, Goal Striker to beat the goalie and score points, Goal Scorer target practise with power to score high points and hit or Free Kick mode to practice your skill at passing the ball.

Currently another 13 Football Challenges are being developed with input from coaches, to improve player's techniques such as free kicks from any position, right corner, passing, shooting, heading, can be practised in the HD Football Simulator.

Under development is an avatar camera, enabling each players' body movement and performance to be automatically measured, during replays, so coaches can quickly analyse which players are currently best performing at certain tasks, such as Free Kicks from 30 yards out, on the right side of the box.

IG Rugby Kick Challenge

IG recently celebrated its 40 years of being a spread betting provider, by hosting the IG Rugby Kick Challenge at Waterloo station. In association with Harlequins rugby club who IG sponsor, who provided many top international rugby players, to give tuition such as Ben Botica and Nick Evans, their fly half’s.

The event was well competed by rugby fans, passing through this iconic train station. With the winning players being uniquely displayed on Waterloo’s giant plasma screen.

Longest Drive
 
Longest Drive players to compete in a longest drive competition on Par 4’s and 5’s for each course. Choose to play from the competition tee, men’s tee or forward position (ladies). Choose from bright, normal, cloudy or rain conditions and select the wind strength to increase difficulty. Players are offered 1, 2 or 3 attempts, and after each shot, a leader board is shown listing the leading players in order of their distance. Up to four contests can be played at once – men’s, ladies, seniors and juniors, and play can be switched from right to left handed at any time.

Putting Contests can be configured to create a contest that can be made is as easy or as difficult as you like. Simply choose any hole on any course, choose your preferred weather conditions, then select any point on the green to commence the contest.

Players then compete to sink as many putts as they can with the system offering 1, 2 or 3 attempts per player. The distance from the cup is shown for each putt, and during the contest any putt going in the hole, gets an automatic reverse replay.

After every shot the leader board is shown listing the leading players in order of their distance to the cup. Up to four contests can be played at once – men’s, ladies, seniors and juniors.

Nearest to Pin
 
Nearest to Pin is a competition mode that allows players to compete on any Par 3 holes on any course. Players can choose to set the contest from the competition tee, men’s tee or forward position (ladies).

Choose the weather conditions from bright, normal, cloudy or rain and set the wind type to increase difficulty. Players then compete to hit as close to the pin as they can with the system offering 1, 2 or 3 attempts per player. During the contest, any shot that lands on the green gets an automatic reverse replay.

After every shot the leader board is shown listing the leading players in order of their distance to the pin. Up to four contests can be played at once – men’s, ladies, seniors and juniors, and play can be switched from right to left handed at any time.

Run Local Networked Tournaments
 
Setting up a Live Network Game, is extremely easy as the networking option is a fully integrated part of the simulator gaming software. Simply select the course to use, a competition type, the number of holes and a start and end date for the competition.

Once configured, each networked simulator can now be used by all players to play on the live networked competition.

To join a tournament, simply choose any simulator connected to the network and join the game. At the end of each hole, the live leader board appears showing the position of each player.

This is the perfect solution for corporate golf, as all the simulators can be used simultaneously and every player in the facility can play the same tournament, just like the European and PGA Tours.

A Simple Easy to Use Main Menu
 
The main menu offers 11 quick and easy to use options. Play a new game, Resume a previous game, Choose to play any of three contests including Longest Drive, Nearest to Pin and Putting. Practice your game using the Virtual Range, Virtual Chip, Virtual Putt features, or Analyze your swing using Player Data. A Course Library option also offers a list of up to date courses that are available.

Putt with Precision using Virtual Putt

Using the High Speed Camera Technology, putting is the world's most accurate, giving an extremely high precision and realistic representation of the putt. Measuring ball direction within a degree and ball speed to 1/100th of a mile an hour, putts can be measured accurately over the contoured 3 dimensional green, for each particular putt played.

Improve Chipping with Virtual Chip

Virtual Chip allows players to practice all types of mid iron shorts and short iron shots on 4 famous golf holes – Turnberry Ailsa, Doral Blue Monster, Celtic Manor and Emirates Majlis. Players can set the conditions to bright, cloudy, normal or rain, and set the wind to fine or gusty to alter the flight performance.

Select a club and choose to play from any position. Play as many practice chips as you like, then review on screen club averages showing distance, carry, roll, to pin distance, ball speed, club speed, face angle, swing path, side spin, back spin and launch angle.

Practice drives with Virtual Range

Select the standard Driving Range, or create a driving range on either the 1st hole at Belfry Brabazon, the 16th at Carnoustie Links 16th, the 2nd at Warwick Hills or the 9th at Monteray Bay.

To practise all types of drives, long iron and mid iron shots. During play, the analysis pane on the left side of the screen is updated after each shot showing distance, carry, roll, ball speed, club face angle, lub head path, side spin, back spin, horizontal and vertical launch angles and offline accuracy.

with Short Game Academy
 
Access the Short Game Academy to improve on all important aspects of the short game. Every type of approach shot can be practiced
such as full pitch shots, flop shots, bunker shots and chip and run shots. Whether those shots are played from the fairway, semi rough, rough, long grass or out of the 4 styles of bunker.

The short game academy is 143 yards long x 90 yards wide and has 5 separate pin positions that can be selected.

At a posh club in Manila, a very arrogant and nasty American is playing a round with a client. He is very abusive to his caddy but all smiles with his client-- you know the type. At the sixth hole -185 yards over water- he demands of his caddy: "What club do I use here?" The caddy replies, "When Mr. Raymond Floyd played here last year, he used a six iron." The golfer rudely grabs the six-iron and hits the ball. The ball lands in the middle of the pond and the golfer erupts: "Hey stupid, you gave me a six iron and it was obviously not enough--I went right into the water!!"
The caddie responds: "That's what Mr. Raymond Floyd did too!"

A married couple was playing in a mixed foursomes match. On the first tee, the man hit a great drive down the middle; his wife sliced the second shot into a copse of trees. Not fazed, he played a brilliant recovery shot which went onto the green a meter from the pin. She poked at the putt and sent it five meters beyond the pin. He lined up the long putt and sank it.
"We'll have to do better next time; that was a bogey five," the man said.
"Don't blame me," she snapped, "I only took two of them."

Hacker: This is my first time playing golf. When do I use my putter?
Caddy: Some time before dark, I hope.
