CONNOTATIONS
Personification:"I've never been in Peking, or the Summer Palace, nor stood on the boat on Kuen Ming Lake.
It shows personification by him saying that he's never been to those places or hasn't done anything at the lake.

WHAT COULD THE TITLE MEAN?
It could mean that a child wants his mom to sing
So he asks her to sing

ATTITUDE
The tone of the poem, is positive
Its positive because they are singing in the memory of his father, and remembering those good times
Even tho they are in sorrow they are having good memories by enjoying what they used to sing together

MEANING OF TITLE, AGAIN
Now that i have read and analyzed this poem
The title means to me now that he just wants to remember his dad and so he asks his mom to sin
Because maybe it was their favorite song to sing with his dad

REFLECTION
The poem spoke to me in many ways
The first thing that i recognized was that it was about a kid who his father had died
Also that he never really got to enjoy fun stuff with his dad
The kid explains how he feels, he holds so much pain
I appreciated in this poem, how you can always remember the good memories you have had with a special person

REFLECTION
The author wrote this poem to talk about what he has been through
I know this because Li-Young Lee actually lost his father many times due to politics
His father was in prison for a long time due to political problems so him and his family fled China
So i think his father died and they never saw him
