• These perscriptions are synthetic T4 hormones
• You will also have regular blood tests to check for hormone levels.
• Initially, the doctor will order a thyroid ultrasound or scan
• This is to check for any abnormalities your thyroid may have

• Usually all that is needed is to take a medication everyday
• Untreated hypothyroidism can lead to problems
