CAUSES OR DANGERS OF HURRICANES

  • A hurricane is a huge storm. The storm travels over open ocean. A hurricane can be 600 miles across. Hurricanes spiral inward and upward at speeds of 75 to 200 mph.
  • A hurricane needs, warm water above 80 degrees Fahrenheit, winds that come together to push air upward, winds that flow outward above the storm, humid air, and light winds.
