Hurricane Katrina started off as a category 1 moving through New Orleans,Mississippi gulf coast it caused some flooding but not much-two people died-
Slowly it became weak and was reclassified as a tropical storm but once it hit water again it became stronger with more power causing it to move up 4 categories now a five category hurricane with winds at 175 mph son New Orleans collapsed and the city flooded really bad..thousands of people had to try and find shelter where they were safe after six hours it became a tropical storm.the bill for the damage was estimated at $81 billion.
