• The illegal practice of procuring or trading in human beings for the purpose of exploitation
• Traffickers only care about the profits they will make - victims are seen as commodities
• Tied for being the second largest criminal industry in the world

LABOR TRAFFICKING

• Many victims are immigrants who are taken advantage of by traffickers-usually don't speak English and won't go to the police for fear of being deported

ORGAN TRAFFICKING

• Aging populations poor diets, & limited health insurance systems=increased organ disease.
• Poor people are often approached and promised a large sum of money if they will let doctors take a "hunk of meat" from their bodies. The traffickers then take the kidney and sell it on the black market. In this particular case,the victim received less then 1% of the amount agreed upon.
• Iran is the only country where organ selling for compensation is legal.

• Customers go up to the handler and negotiate the price for the specific act and the amount of time.
