STONE FISH

FOOD

  • Stone fish are carnivores.
  • They eat a large variety of small fish, because the big fish are to big.
  • Stone fish rarely eat shrimp usually because they cannot find enough fish.

PROTECTION

  • They have the most potent venom out of all fish in the world.
  • They have spikes that project the venom.
  • They have amazing camouflage because they try to hide from predators.

HABITAT

  • They live in rocky reefs as well as the sand to blend in.
  • They also live in the coastal region of the Indopacific and the northern Australian waters.

PREDATORS

  • People are considered predators because the stone fish are considered a delicacy.
  • Bottom feeder sharks cause they could find the stone fish easier.
  • Rays too. (only baby stone fish).

CITES
