PRESENTATION OUTLINE

HOW VOLTAGE IS INDUCED IN A COIL OF WIRE

BY KYNNEDI, ETHYN, AND ZANE

Any change in the magnetic environment of a coil of wire will cause a voltage to be induced.

CHANGE COULD BE PRODUCED BY;

  • Changing the magnetic field strength
  • Moving a magnet toward or away from the coil
  • Moving the coil into or out of the magnetic field

FARADAY'S LAW

  • A formula
  • Describes how potential difference is created
  • How much is created

E=dB/dt

Untitled Slide

  • E = value of voltage (EMF)
  • dt = change in time
  • dB = change in magnetic flux

The amount of voltage created is equal to the change in magnetic flux divided by the change in time

COILS

  • More coils
  • More voltage
