PRESENTATION OUTLINE
HOW VOLTAGE IS INDUCED IN A COIL OF WIRE
Any change in the magnetic environment of a coil of wire will cause a voltage to be induced.
CHANGE COULD BE PRODUCED BY;
- Changing the magnetic field strength
- Moving a magnet toward or away from the coil
- Moving the coil into or out of the magnetic field
FARADAY'S LAW
- A formula
- Describes how potential difference is created
- How much is created
Untitled Slide
- E = value of voltage (EMF)
- dt = change in time
- dB = change in magnetic flux
The amount of voltage created is equal to the change in magnetic flux divided by the change in time
