Solving

Usually with 2-step equations, we have to use an inverse operation to solve the problem. First, isolate the variable and then solve from there.

Example using multiplication
8+m/4=17
-8 -8
M/4=9
M/4*4=4*9
M=36

Step 1: isolate the variable by subtracting 8 from each side.
Step 2: now, m/4=9, so we have to multiply m/4 and 9 by 4.
Step 3: m/4 is canceled into m from multiplying m/4*4, and 9*4 is 36, so m=36.

Example using division

12/a-7=-1

Step 1: isolate the variable by adding 7 to both sides
Step 2: you now have 12/a=6, and so you divide 12 by 6

your answer is a=2

Question 1
3=g/6-12

Answer: g=90
