No Description

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

TOP TEN WAYS TO CLEAN YOUR COOKING UTENSILS

TIP 1

  • putting wooden spoons in the dishwasher can damage the wood because of the heat and cleansers. All you need is water and dish soap. Soak heavily-encrusted spoons in a solution of one part baking soda to 10 parts water.

TIP 3

  • After you pour your drink, take the pitcher straight to the sink. Put in a little water and a drop of dish soap, put it back on the blender, and turn it on for 20 seconds. Rinse it out and you’re done.

TIP 4

  • If your wooden spoons or cutting board start to look dry or fuzzy, periodically rub them with mineral oil or a beeswax compound. Don't use food-based oil like vegetable or olive oil, since these can go rancid.

TIP 5

  • apply a mineral oil to the wood every once in a while to prevent the wood from drying out and cracking.

TIP 6

  • The quickest way to clean a microwave oven is to place a handful of wet paper towels inside and run it on High for 3-5 minutes.

TIP 7

  • The next time food bubbles over in your oven, don’t give it a chance to bake on and cool. Toss some salt on the stuff while it is still liquid. When the oven cools, you’ll be able to wipe up the spill with a cloth. The same technique works for spills on the stovetop. The salt will remove odors too, and if you’d like to add a pleasant scent, mix a little cinnamon in with the salt.

TIP 8

  • Another safe and effective method for cleaning melamine plastic kitchenware is a mixture of liquid dish soap and warm water with a soft cloth. For removing grime in the "corners", use a soft toothbrush. Start brushing away the dirt.

TIP 9

  • To clean your knife block try sucking out any crumbs or dirt using the crevice tool on your vacuum cleaner. You can also aim a hair dryer at the slots, on the highest-speed setting, to blow any crud out
