HOW TO CARE FOR A pet tree FROG

  • My name is Nate.
  • I have been in the 4-H innovators club for 2 years.
  • Today I will be teaching you how to care for a Whites Tree Frog.
  • I am the happy and proud owner of a frog named Guacamole.

Materials

  • coconut husk (shredded)
  • terrarium
  • decor (rocks, sticks, greenery, etc.)
  • light (heating)
  • water bowl
  • dechlorinizer
  • spray bottle
  • frog
  • crickets (medium-large)
  • thermometer+hygrometer

Setting up your terrarium

  • Put your terrarium in a safe place.
  • Soak coconut husk in water for 25 min.- 1 hour.
  • Once ready, put the coconut husk in the terrarium and spread it around the bottom.
  • Put the Thermometer+Hygrometer onto the inside of the terrarium.
  • Gently place your frog into the terrarium.

Caring for your frog

  • You should give your frog 3-5 crickets each day, depending on the size of the frog and the crickets. ONLY buy brown crickets.
  • You will need to clean out your frog's terrarium and poop daily.
  • You will need to give your frog's terrarium a spray-down with dechlorinated water.

Facts about whites tree frogs

  • This species is also called an Australian green tree frog.
  • The Whites tree frog's scientific name is Litoria Caerulea. (LIE- toria sae-rule-ia)
  • The ideal temperature is about 75 degrees Fahrenheit and the ideal humidity is 65%.
