  • Clarinets have 7 separate parts.
  • The mouth piece
  • The barrel and the belle
  • The two long key pieces in the middle
  • and the reed and the ligature.

Cleaning Clarinets

  • When you clean a clarinet you need: 
  • A stringed cloth
  • A special scrub brush for the keys
  • Cork grease
  • And shining solution

How clarinets make sound

  • To make a sound you must have the following criteria:
  • fingerings, fingerings are where you place your fingers on the keys
  • you must cover certain holes in the clarinet for it to play
  • you must also blow into the mouth piece with the correct embassure 
  • an embassure is the way you have your mouth held in place.

  • The clarinet was created in n Germany around the turn of the 18th
  • the clarinet was made by adding a register key to the earlier chalumeau.
  • Most of us are aware of what is known as the Boehm fingering system 
  • . Clarinets are pitched in keys other than Bb and Eb. but most are Bb

  • The clarinet is a woodwind instrument played with a single reed
  • Clarinets come in many different sizes, with different pitch ranges.
  • Clarinets made after 1850 are generally the same as modern clarinets in size and shape
  • Most modern clarinet bodies are made out of African blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon)
  • 3 Body parts for clarinets made of plastic are produced by injection molding
