SKILLZ Yeah, I've got 'em. But I can always use some more. Especially when it comes to working with my preK-12 students who are hearing impaired (HI). Talk about learning how to be flexible!
What my students really need are some HOT Skillz! They love the iPad, so I figured I'd take this course to get some new ideas. And boy, did I get some!
My Tips for Teachers using iPads with their students: 1. Students should always plan first before using the story telling apps. 2. Show students a completed version of the creation within the app before you start showing them how to create. 3. Use the app yourself as you plan your lesson, thinking of all the problems students can run into when using the apps themselves.
A plan: That's what I've got! Because my students are language impaired, I spend a lot of time teaching vocabulary in the Remembering, Understanding and (maybe some) Applying levels of Bloom's Taxonomy. Next year, we are blowing the roof off and living the HI life!
