PRESENTATION OUTLINE

HOT AIR BALLON CONSTRUCTION

PROUDLY PRESENTED BY BLOWHOLE AND TREVOR

1.)Collect 12 long sheets of tissue wrapping paper.( Get colours you want on your ballon)

2.) Now create 6 pairs of tissue wrapping paper (in a colour pattern)and glue them together end on end in those pairs to make 6 sets.

3.) Wait for it to dry for over night.

4.) In the meantime cut your template and sticky tape together. Try to be as neat as possible !!

5.) Make sure when you glue, you use a bench mat or Mrs Vo will get very mad.

If you dont use a mat , they will stick to the benches and this is all that they will be good for.

6.) Fold your 6 sheets in half long ways and trace the template along the joint edge.

7.) Once all templates are sketched on , time to cut them all out.

Glue to the edges of the tissue paper to your other five templates.

Once you get to your last sheet , glue it to the remaining edge on template one.

Inflate the ballon to see if there are any holes , if so patch up with scrap tissue paper from cut outs made previously.

Wrap a total of 25cm of foil to the bottom of your ballon. Make sure there is 5cm on the outside.

Now make a circle with metal wire to the same perimeter as the bottom of the ballon. Add 2 cross section to create an "+ "shape

Flight Test

Self Evaluation
The flight test for us as group was a real success as the ballon went into the air and held its spot for 5 seconds and decended slowly being a graceful fall.

WHAT DID WE DO WELL

  • Spreading the load
  • Have clear instructions on what needed to be done each lesson
  • Connecting the sheets to make a ballon shape
  • Flight Test
  • This presentation

WHAT DID WE DO POORLY

  • Get a little side tracked
  • Storing our sheets when gluing
  • Taking photos of us constructing it
  • Being organised
  • Patching holes
  • The presentation of the foil

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Colour pattern
  • Finding storage places for drying
  • Template cut out
  • Finesse glueing at the top of the envelop
