Who are the homeless?

#2: I don't know I'm still not convinced.

• Poverty
• Foreclosures, the great recession, & the lack of affordable housing
• ADFC to TANF

#3: intersectionality is a thing

• Class
• Gender
• Race
• Sexual Orientation
• Incarceration
• Victimization/poverty/"homes not handcuffs"

#4: but, like homeless people are bad, right?

• Presumed hostility of the homeless
• “I’ve worked hard to get where I am today, I know others who have struggled but overcome. These people are not trying, therefore they’re undeserving.”
• Homeless are morally bankrupt

#5: but, like, aren't there shelters n'stuff?

• Accommodations divided by gender for safety reasons
• Trans people’s assignments can make them vulnerable to harassment/assault.
• Some denied access because facilities' inability/unwillingness to accommodate trans people.
• Pregnant homeless women often turned away from because of liability risks
