JUNGLE LIFE
Many of the hmoung died in the jungle because of hunger ot thrist
They also deid because of illness but that was there only option
Or elses theyed be killed by the communist or would be in the army
Familys live in the jungle for years and some still do because of fear
And they dont know if its over so they still hide

THE WAR ENDS
After many years of the war the united states lost the war
The us troops left veitnam and laos for safety
The hmong solider who fought for us were now in grave danger
But the ones who didn't fight for the us were safe and sound

THE KILLING CONTINUES
The veitnamiese solider hunted down hmong who server for the secert army
And tried to kill them and ther families there was no one to protect them
Some of the hmong surrendered hopful that the communist didnt kill them
They were slaves for the communist and work for the communist
Some of them were daring enough to leave loas to escape for slavery

THE MEKONG RIVER DEATH IN THE WATER
Ro escape the had to cross the Mekong river some of them couldn't swim
On the other side of the river was thai land there was refuge
Some people died trying to cross to be free from the communist
It could take three hour to cross the river on average
Communist shot people crossing and you could see dead bodies

REFUGEE CAMPS
From the 1975 -1990 hundreds of thousand fled loas
Nobody knows how many people fled loas the people who did useally went to thailand
One of the largest camps was called ban vinai there was More than 45,000 people lived there
Ban vinai h ad a heath clinic ,school ,lake ,and refugees could study english

LIVING CONDITION
Most refugee at the camps lived in little Bamboo barracks
As many as ten families lived in Each barrack alone
Some families had little spaces for a garden but mostly had to rely on the camps food
Somtimes people in the camp shared a toilet with up to 200 other refugees

In the camps tried hard to follow there customs
There belief is that family is very important to the hmong
When they lived as before in groups or clans before the war
