PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ROME'S CREATION

ROMULUS - REMUS - PALATINE HILL - AVENTINE HILL - PLEBEIANS - PATRICIANS - REPUBLIC
Hello

Both brothers Romulus and Remus wanted to build a city between the seven hills of the Tiber river, but they could not agree on the name they should give to the new city. As they were twins, order of precedence did not apply.

So, they decided to consult the oracles and agreed that the twin who would see the largest number of birds - considered a sign of good augur - would choose the name of the city.

Remus climbed on the Aventine Hill ( there live the plebeians )he saw six birds. Romulus was standing on the Palatine Hill ( there live the patricians ), and he saw twelve birds.

Unfortunately, this did not resolve the conflict between the brothers. Even though Romulus saw more signs, Remus claimed he saw them first. But Romulus just began to build his city although he didn't really win.

Remus was unhappy, so he climbed over the romulus his city wall. Romulus didn't like this, he was really angry so he killed his brother. And then The city was called Rome (after Romulus).

They both wanted to build their city in between the seven hills for protection.
