HUNGARY

  • After 300 years the rule of arpads came to an end in 1301
  • Following a 9 year battle the Angevines gained power in 1310
  • First two Hungarian kings: Louis the Great and Charles 1
  • He (Charles 1) acquired territories in Bosnia and Serbia
  • Louis 1 died in 1382

POLAND

  • Early 14th century; Poland was ruled by Waldyslaw I Lokietek
  • He also held off Teutonic Knights
  • His son was Kasmir the 3
  • Here reformed the legal system and reduced the law
  • Founded university of krakow in 1364

LITHUANIA

  • In 1386, Polish nobles had elected a ruler of Lithuania – Jogailo
  • Died in 1399 and cousin took over: wladyslaw II jagiello
  • In 1410 defeated Teutonic order at the battle of tannenburg
  • Died in 1434
  • Kasmir 4 took over

  • Son of wladyslaw II jagiello
  • King of Poland and Hungary
  • Election was assisted by janos hunyadi
  • Led an army against the atomens forcing a treaty in 1444
  • Killed 1444
