Things they worship

  • Brahma was the creator. Vishnu was the preserver and Shiva was the destroyer.
  • There is no book of worship.
  • There is no specific day of worship.

Festivals

  • Deepavali -a five day festival of lights that is the end of the Hindu year.

  • Hindus have to wash their feet before they go into a palace or place of worship.
  • Hindus believe that souls can be reincarnated, undergoing rebirth cycle.

Beliefs

  • There are five practices. The practices are worship daily, follow dharma, observe the sam-skaras (rites of passage), celebrate the holy days and go on pilgrimage to sacred places.
  • India is a country with the largest Hindu population in the world.

  • Hindus believes that all living things have a soul, or Atman. Each timeless – never created and never will perish.
