REINCARNATION
When a person dies, the atman, which is their soul, transforms into a new body or animal
Their fate is determined by their karma, which is the actions that they performed during their life
Good actions gives good karma which leads to a good rebirth
The cycle eventually ends when the person is good again. This is the main goal for all Hindu's

FUNERALS
The body is washed and then annointed with oil.
The body is wraped in a red cloth if female and white if male.
All hindus are cremated this is because they believe that fire releases the soul.
The ashes are collected and after 3 days are scattered into the Ganges River.
Many Hindus believe that this river is sacred.

CATHOLIC VIEWS
We don't believe in reincarnation.
We believe that the soul has one body and if it were to resurrect it would be in that body only.
Our immortal soul is judged by God and will reside in eternal life.
The cremated remains should never be scattered or disposed of in any manner.
The Church expects entombment of the ashes in a conventional grave, a mausoleum or a columbarium
