DEPRESSANTS

  • Heroin is a depressant drug which slows down the messages to the brain making alertness slow down dramatically

SHORT TERM EFFECTS

  • Slowed breathing Clouded mental functioning Nausea and vomiting Sedation; drowsiness Hypothermia (body temperature lower than normal) Coma or death (due to overdose)

LONG TERM EFFECTS

  • Bad teeth Inflammation of the gums Constipation Cold sweats Itching Weakening of the immune system Coma Respiratory (breathing) illnesses Muscular weakness, partial paralysis Reduced sexual capacity and long-term impotence in men Menstrual disturbance in women Inability to achieve orgasm (women and men) Loss of memory and intellectual performance Introversion Depression Pustules on the face

CHOICES IF OFFERED DRUGS

  • I could say no I have another person who gives me heroin and that he gives me free samples.
  • I could say sure I'll take some and use it and probably end up dead due to overdose of taking heroin or if I live I will probably get depression from continuous use of this drug.
  • I could refuse to take the drug and go to a couple of mates that I know I can trust so I don't get bashed and stabbed.

PANIC ATTACK

  • You should sit the person down and keep them calm and say stuff like you are doing a good job

SEIZURES AND FITS

  • Lay the person down in a recovery position as shown here

FEELING DROWSY

  • Sit the person down and give them water. Let the person get some fresh air.

UNCONSCIOUSNESS

  • Call an ambulance lay get the person in a recovery position and call an ambulance straight away but remember keep calm
