WHAT IS HEROIN?

  • Highly addictive drug
  • Used illicitly as a narcotic
  • It is a "downer" drug

  • White to dark brown in color
  • Powder or tar-like substance

HOW CAN IT BE USED?

  • Injected in the vein or muscle
  • Smoked in a pipe
  • Mixed in a marijauna joint
  • Inhaled as smoke through a straw
  • Snorted as a powder via the nose

SHORT-TERM AFFECTS

  • Constricted pupils
  • Droopy eyes
  • Impaired night vision
  • Vomiting
  • Constipation

LONG-TERM AFFECTS

  • Collapsed veins
  • Infection of the heart lining
  • Liver disease

  • The drug eats away for inside out
  • Rots the flesh
  • Leaves bone and muscle exposed

WHY USE IT?

  • Most people who use this already have a mental condition
  • People think it will make them feel good
  • You will feed bad if you don't use it, after starting the drug
  • This is the same for both heroin and krokodil
