Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Longfellow was born on February 27th 1807 in Portland Maine. He is the son of Stephan and Ziplah Longfellow.

Stephan, Elizabeth, Anne, Alexander, Mary,Ellen, and Samuel were his siblings.

Henry has been in school since he was 3 years old and became fluent in Latin when he was 14.

He published 40 poems between 1824-1825. in 1836 he was a professor at Harvard.

Though married to Mary Storer Potter, he did not have 1 child with her.

later in life, he married Frances Elizabeth Appleton and had 6 children

His children were named Ernest, Alice, Fanny, Edith, and Charles.

Besides his career as a writer, he was also a professor at Harvard.

He read books by Daniel Defoe, and Miguel de Cerventes as a child, and it inspired him to become a writer and write poetry.

A lot of people enjoyed his work. He influenced a lot of Americas artistic and pop culture.
