HARAPPAN FACTS

  • In 1922 archeologists made an exciting discovery
  • they found the remains of ancient city from a previously
  • Unknown civilization. They called it Harappa.

  • We know very little about this
  • Civilization
  • The civilization lasted about 1,000 years
  • from about 2,500 BCE until about 1,500 BCE
  • We know they built large cities with straight streets

  • The houses were all alike
  • They were made of baked bricks
  • They were two floor or more
  • It had a flat roof which acted like a third floor for dining
  • and storage

  • Both men and women wear robes that
  • are various colors.

  • entertainment. One small figure has
  • been found and looks like a dancer.
  • Whether they dance for enjoyment or to
  • Honor their gods which we don't know of.

  • High quality pottery of graceful
  • designs. They also made very small
  • statues of clay,bronze, and silver.

  • a variety of crops some are barley,
  • peas,wheat,dates, and melons
  • They herded cattle and sheep.
