PRESENTATION OUTLINE
After the death of the Danish King, his brother married the Queen.
Hamlet during the night with his friend Horatio saw the ghost of his father, the king.
he told Hamlet that his brother has killed him pouring poison in his ear and so, he seeked revenge.
Hamlet pretended to be mad so he could carry out his plans easily, however The King though that his madness is caused by ophelia's love
meanwhile Hamlet arranged a group of actors to play
"The murder of GonzaGO" which was a similar story to the one told by the ghost.
Although hamlet wanted to kill the king, he changed his mind after seeing him praying.
HAmlet who was having an argument with his mother, accidentally ended up killing pollonius, who was overhearing the conversation, WHICH IS WHY THE KING DECIDED TO send him to england where he was sentence to death.
Laertes, the brother of Ophelia who drowned herself because of HAmlet's death, wanted revenge, this is why the king plotted hamlet's death during that duel.
Finally the duel started: the queen ended up drinking poisoned wine.
Laertes planned to wound hamlet with a poisened sword, however, in the confusion, they were exchanged.
Both Hamlet and his enemy were wound to death, during his last moments hamlet decided to ask horatio to tell his story and he recommended Fortinbras as new king.
at the end of the play fortinbras entered the scene and gets proclaimed king.
Hamlet:
he is the main character, he is the son of geltrude and the danish king, after his father's death and his mother's marriage with the uncle claudius he pretended to be mad in order to carry out easily his plan against them.
claudius:
he is the brother in law of geltrude, however he got married with her once the king has died.
danish king:
he is the father of Hamlet and Claudius's brother, he died poisoned in a ear during his sleep.
Ophelia:
she is polonius's daughter and she is in love with hamlet, this is the reason why she drowned herself when he is sent to england.
Laertes:
he is ophelia's brother and the one who fights against hamlet to revenge her sister death.
Horatio:
he is hamlet's friend and the one who stands him when his father's ghost appeared.
at the end he as the most important task of making memory of his friend's story.

Hamlet was with Ophelia in a room of the Elsinore Castle and started a monologue just like he was alone.

moreover in his speech hamlet presented the contrast between known and unknown, that is strictly connected with the monologue about death.
the only thing that Stops men from getting free from life, full of sufferings and pain, is the fear for the Unknown. Men prefer bearing the worst things that come up in life than dealing with all the uncertainties related to death.
MADNESS:
faking madness is used by Hamlet to throw people off, shakespeare elevated it: did hamlet truly go mad?
REVENGE:
Ghost's perverse family drama and desire of revenge, the play isn't about Hamlet's ultimately successful vengeance for his father's murder at all, it is a lot more interested in calling into question the validity and usefulness of revenge.
MORTALITY:
Hamlet talked about mortality and the fact that living world is full of death and decay, the play tries to face up with the problem that if we all die eventually does it really matters who kills us?
