CONTEXT

  • Abram, Sarai, Lot travel to Canaan
  • Abram and Lot seperate
  • Lord said he would give him land
  • War with Kings, Abram saves Lot
  • Abram gives up possessions to all the kings

- Lord says to Abram that he will give him as many descendants as there are stars
- God makes the Covenant with Abram
-Hagar runs away

  • Abram responds to God because he has trust
  • Hagar responds to God when she runs away
  • Lot responds to God selfishly

Experience
- Abram obeys God and does what he says, even though he has his doubts
- Sarai is envious when Hagar becomes pregnant & treats Hagar poorly
-Lot was greedy, concieted

- Responded to God by listening to him and making a Covenant with God
- They see God as an all powerful, trustworthy, figure

Reflect
- God has something planned for us and always welcomes new people into his kingdom
- We fit in by answering God's call
- God makes the covenant, and guides Abraham through his journey.

- Abraham and God's relationship strengthens, the farther Abraham travels through his journey.

Evaluation
- For the most part Abraham and Hagar trusted God. However they did have their struggles.
