  • Cruel and unusual punishments- bad treatment
  • Excessive bail- a lot of money to bail you out

THE HISTOY OF AMENDMENT 8

  • Ratified on December 15th, 1791
  • People thought it was unfair
  • People were tortured and killed
  • Friends and patriots- captured and gave away money

THE ADVANTAGES FOR THE AMERICANS

  • No cruel or unusual punishments- no whipping
  • No exessive bail
  • Judges can decide the bail depending on how bad the person is

  • Sent to death by firing squad

MY CONCLUSION

  • When committing a small crime, high bail and a punishment
  • Protects individuals from high bail and cruel treatment
  • Some people think it was unfair and others think they shouldnt be the amendment
