Sammy was a young girl living with her family and other Africans in the west of Africa.

Until something horrible had happen some white people came to there village and captured them.

They had been chained and people that Sammy knew were killed or captured like she did. Her parents were killed , they had captured her brother.

They were put on large ships , she was amazed by the sea. She just had a feeling that something horrible was going to happen.

They were in the ship for several months , women were used by the sailors and by the captain. Sammy was raped by the captain but some white sailor was trying to protect her. Men were the worst treated.

Once the captain saw there were near America they treated the Africans a little better and feed them to the fullest.

Once they got to America they showered them and made the women almost be naked so they would buy them in the auction.

Sammy was bought and her brother was had not the same luck as her he had died when as soon they go to America.

Sammy was working as a nanny of some white children. She was treated better than the other ones in the field but was sexually used by her owner.

Until one day she could just not take it anymore she ran away to Florida with other slaves that were her age. Lucky they had made it to fort mose.
