There were several times that America was almost pulled into World War II. America began to put pressure on Japan to prevent any futher aggression. Japan began to withdraw their aggression as America, their main source for iron, steel, and, oil, began to cut down on sending materials to Japan. Congress gave President Roosevelt the right to restrict the sale of war supplies to Japan, which then caused Japan to sign an alliance with Japan and Italy.
AMERICA KNEW THAT JAPAN WAS PREPARING FOR WAR BUT DID NOT EXPECT THEM TO ATTACK HAWAII, BECAUSE OF THE LONG DISTANCE.
AT ABOUT 8 AM, JAPANESE PLANES FILLED THE SKY OVER PEARL HARBOR.
BOMBS AND BULLETS RAINED ONTO THE VESSELS ANCHORED BELOW.
ONE OF THE SHIPS EXPLODED AND SANK WITH MORE THAN 1,000 MEN ON BOARD.
RESCUE BOATS RESCUED THE BURNING SHIPS, THE USS WV AND TN.
MANY AMERICANS RESPONDED NEGATIVELY, BLAMING FDR.
This was the turning point when the US entered the War. It was the end of Isolationism for the United States.
