ZEUS/JUPITER

  • Zeus was the god of the sky and ruler of the Olympian gods.
  • his brothers Poseidon and Hades.
  • His weapon was a thunderbolt.

POSSIDEN/NEPTUNE

  • is the god of the sea and protector of all aquatic features.
  • He was widely worshipped by seamen.
  • His weapon was a trident, with which he could make the earth shake
  • He could control the water

HADES/PLUTO

  • lord of the underworld and ruler of the dead.
  • Hades preferred the Underworld and rarely left his kingdom
  • weapon was a pitchfork, which he used to create earthquakes
  • He also had a helmet of invisibility
  • He was married to Persephone, daughter of Demeter

ARES/MARS

  • the god of war, and son of Zeus and Hera.
  • He was disliked by both his parents.
  • He was favouring the Trojans durimg the war
  • There were few temples attributed to Ares in Ancient Greece.

HEPHAESTUS/VULCAN

  • Greek god of blacksmiths, sculptors, metallurgy, fire and volcanoes
  • he is symbolised with a hammer, an anvil and a pair of tongs.
  • on the island of Lemnos where he became a master craftsman.
  • became the craftsman of the gods
  • He created majestic armors, shields and weapons.
