  • it is the second largest city in Greece
  • it is famous for its beautiful beaches

GREECE HISTORY

  • They call themselves Hellenes
  • An ancient building in Athen, Greece is the Parthanon
  • It was a former temple dedicated to the goddess Athena
  • There is also the first olive tree
  • The first olive tree was thought to be a gift from the Greek Goddess Athena

A major event in Greece is the start of the Olympics. They began in 776BC in Greece and are still happening around the world.

Tiropita- Tiropita or tyropita is a Greek layered pastry made with layers of buttered phyllo and filled with a cheese-egg mixture

-Greek and it has influenced us because we have greek roots in our language

  • We speak english they speak Greek
  • 98% of Greeks are christian orthodox
  • U.S. has over 300 million more people
  • When children in Greece lose their teeth, they throw it on the roof, rather than under their pillow like the U.S.
