Glorifying Mother of God

The religious meaning of the holiday is a coming together to glorify the Theotokos(mother of god). But in general and in effect the day is considered a holiday because it's the day after Christmas just like Boxing Day in some Commonwealth countries. Boxing Day is a holiday traditionally celebrated the day following Christmas Day, when servants and tradespeople would receive gifts, known as a "Christmas box", from their bosses or employers. This symbol is The Divnogorsk-Sicilian Icon. Base on the Greek Orthodox Church this is the mother of god and saints all around her. The saints around her are worshiping her. This symbol was created in 1831.

Foods

People eat little food on this day. They will just eat bread and wine. Sometimes people even die.
