LOCATION
THE LAKE IS IN THE NORTHERN PART OF UTAH
The Great Salt Lake is 74.56 miles long, and 27.96 miles wide!
Surprisingly, the Great Salt Lake is five times saltier than the ocean.

It is made out of table salt, brines, and potash.

The Great Salt Lake is the largest body of salt water west of the Mississippi River.
The Great Salt Lake is like the Dead Sea, except it has brine shrimp living in it.
BRINE SHRIMP
SMALL SHRIMP THAT LIVE IN BRINE POOLS AND SALT LAKES
Brine shrimp that float to the top of the lake are the cause of the sulfur-like smell.
It turns out that you can't eat brine shrimp since they live in a very salty place.

Brine shrimp are used for aquarium fish and are called Artemia by scientists.
REASONS TO LIVE HERE

- Many breeds of birds that only live in the Great Salt Lake like the peregrine falcon.
