CLUASES

  • A clause is a group of words that contains a verb & its subject.
  • Clauses is used as a sentance or part of a sentence.
  • Every clause hasva subject & a verb.
  • Not every clause express a complete thought.

CLAUSES

  • Independent clauses are clauses that express a complete thought.
  • Clauses that do not express a complete thought are dependent clause.

CLAUSES

  • Example: Independent clauses
  • The creek flowed faster
  • Example: Dependent clauses

INDEPENDENT CLAUSES

  • An independent clause expresses a complete thought.
  • Independent clauses can stand on there own.
  • Example:
  • The river flowed faster, after the stones were removed.
