A clause is a group of words that contains a verb & its subject.
Clauses is used as a sentance or part of a sentence.
Every clause hasva subject & a verb.
Not every clause express a complete thought.

CLAUSES
Independent clauses are clauses that express a complete thought.
Clauses that do not express a complete thought are dependent clause.

An independent clause expresses a complete thought.
Independent clauses can stand on there own.
Example:
The river flowed faster, after the stones were removed.
