THE REPUBLIC
The Roman Republic was ruled by a group of men.
The senates and the consuls.
Julius Ceaser almost ended the Republic because he wanted a lot more power.
The republic lasted about 500 years.
Emperors tried to take complete charge of Rome but the senate didn't let them.

THE SENATE
the senates are retired magistrates and know a lot about how to govern.
There were 600 men in the senate.
In 3d and 2d cent BC Rome sent out armies and fought and they made treaties.
If you had a lot of power and land it was easier to become part of the senate.

AFTER THE REPUBLIC
The whole Rome was ruled by an emperor. Augustus.
After his death popular elections all about dissapeared.
Power wasn't located in the old republican forum anymore.
Power was in the imperial palace. In Rome.
The imperial palace is where the emperor of all of Rome lived.
