6 Pillars of Characters

Katie Tran Period 1

Good

  • Those who knows what's right and wrong those who have morals and live by those morals
  • doing something that doesn't require someone to think for themselves
  • someone can be good if them improve not just themselves but help improve others

Evil

  • evil is being immoral
  • knowing something is wrong, but still acting upon it
  • evil is selfish and those who are evil are usually self absorbed
  • someone can be evil if they are always thinking for themselves and never thinking about the consequences of their actions

Freewill

  • timshel
  • acting for oneself and not thinking about what others think
  • fate doesn't exist
  • people have a choice to choose where their lives go
  • Someone can have freewill if they don't have the mindset that everything will come to them naturally because of fate, rather they go out there and make life how they want it

HUMAN NATURE: It is in human nature for us to have a little bit of good, evil, and freewill. There is no such thing as someone who is truly good or evil. There's always going to be times when people think about only themselves, and times when they think about others as well. It is our instincts to think about the consequences for ourselves, and sometimes not for everyone else. We tend to act for ourselves.

Character

  • character is your moral qualities
  • something someone inhibits
  • there are both good and bad characters in the world

Trustworthiness

  • I believe that in general I am a trustworthy person
  • BUT there are times where I catch myself thinking for myself more than I do for others when it comes to certain things
  • Despite that, it is never a bad thing to think about yourself sometimes

Respect

  • I respect those who deserve it
  • Depends on how the person is and acts and the way they carry themselves towards others
  • I respect those who are close to me, and those who I look up to
  • People that have good intentions in the world are people I tend to respect

Responsibility

  • I can be a responsible person, but there are definitely times when I lack on my part
  • I do like to make sure I get things done, and I keep up with myself and everything else
  • I'm generally responsible because for example I like to have my life planned out, and keep myself on my tracks. I do everything necessary to be successful in my life

Fairness

  • How fair I am to people depends on the person themselves
  • I do not dislike nor show hate towards anyone for no reason
  • If I am treated with respect, then I will gladly return the favor

Caring

  • I care for the world and everyone around me
  • Always making sure that nobody is ever at a disadvantage when I could definitely help out
  • I care for people because I know what it's like to not have people care for me

Citizenship

  • I like to stay informed of what is going on in my community
  • I volunteer quite often because it is my duty to help out in my community
  • I wouldn't rate my citizenship to be 100% up to par because I do tend to not do what I am supposed to
