Monitor & Clarify

  • Student Book 512 - 513
  • Think Aloud: I wonder why the author writes that the children's eyes "popped." I think that people's eyes get bigger when they are surprised. That must be what the author means by "popped." Why are the children so surprised? I'll look at the picture to see if it gives me any clues. I see Gloria standing on her head. The children must have been very surprised!
  • Students should continue this strategy
