HISTORY OF GHB

  • GHB was first made in the 1920s, and was used as an anesthetic agent in the 1960s. It was sold in health food stores as a performance-enhancing additive in bodybuilding formulas until the FDA banned it in the 1990. In March of 2000 it became a schedule 1 controlled substance.

MEDICAL USES

  • In some European countries GHB is used as addition to anesthesia.
  • It can treat narcolepsy
