  • You can't see them because they are really really small small enough to get inside your body and cause you trouble.

HOW TO PREVENT GERMS?

  • Stay home when your sick
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze
  • Wash your hands

WHY DO GERMS MAKE YOU SICK?

  • There are 4 major types of germs. They are bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa. They can invade in plants, animals, and people. Sometimes they can make you sick. Bacteria can reproduce outside of the body, or within the body and cause infections.

HOW IS INFLUENZA CAUSED

  • Influenza is contagious so it can be spread easily from person to person because of eye droplets or fluids sent through the air when someone sneezes or coughs.

HOW LONG CAN GERMS STAY OUTSIDE YOUR BODY?

  • Cold and flu can remain alive in the environment for up to 48 hours. Other germs like the Norovirus virus( diarrhea and vomiting) can live up to 12 days outside the body.

  • A clean mouth has over 1,000 to 100,000 bacterias on each tooth
  • You are born bacteria free but aquire them after birth
