German Peasant revolt

The German Peasant Revolt peasants fighting for their new religious right and dissatisfied over high taxes.

A new schism/split in the catholic church due to Martin making a german bible which split the church into protestant and catholic

The peasant revolt went back and forth with them trying to capture cities only to fail

The constant revolts of peasants was taking Charles V focus off colonization and the wars in the netherland and east

All peasant revolts ended in defeat for the peasants and most of their leaders were burned at the stake

The peace of Augsburg

Charles V had to deal with colonization and the invasion from the middle east making this a easy option to end the revolt.

The Peace of Augsburg of 1555 allowed each German state to determine if they would be a Catholic or Protestant area.

The peace of Augsburg finally put an end to the peasant revolt
