GERMAN MEASLES

OTHER KNOWN NAME=RUBELLA

INTRO

  • German measles are an infection that mostly affect skin and lymph nodes.
  • It's a mild affection children.
  • It can also affect unborn babies.

CAUSE

  • These measles are caused by a the rubella virus.
  • It goes person to person by airborne droplets.
  • The virus can also be present in urine,feces, and on the skin.
  • It can be found in developing babies, this is called rubella syndrome.

SYMPTOMS

  • It may start by a mild fever&swollen lymphs.
  • Swollen lymphs are at the back of the neck and behind the ears.
  • A rash begins at the face and proceed downward.
  • Rubella in a pregnant woman risks her child having growth retardation,
  • And also deafness and others health problems.

TREATMENT

  • A vaccine should be given to babies 12-15 months old.
  • Pregnant women have to wait until after they give birth to their child.
  • Pregnant woman that don't have this disease should avoid anyone that does.
  • I will show you some pictures of german measles.
