CHILDHOOD LIFE

Washington father died when he turned 11 since he has died George has been moving home to home with his mother and half brother. At the age of 14 Washington had planned to join the British navy but then stayed home in obedience to his mother's wishes. By the age of sixteen he had obtained a basic education in mathematics, surveying (the process of measuring and plotting land), reading, and the usual subjects of his time. In 1749 (17) Washington was appointed county surveyor , and his experience on the frontier led to his appointment as a major (a military officer who is above a captain) in the Virginia militia (a small military force that is not part of the regular army) in 1752.

In 1754 George Washington began his military career in the French and Indian war. Then in 1775 Washington lead the continental army into the American war. Later on in 1789 George Washington was elected as the first United States president for his bravery and smarts.

WHY IS HE IMPORTANT

He was commander in chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War (1775-83) and 6 years later he served two terms as the first U.S. president, from 1789 to 1797. He later died at his home in Mount Vernon 1799 at the age of 67

CONCLUSION
In conclusion George Washington helped shape this country into what it is today and was many of the great leaders that we had, and if you still don't know him just look on a one dollar bill and start remembering
