LINES
Definition: a straight line that goes on for infinity in both directions.

Railroad tracks are a great example of lines because they never end, there also parallel lines

RIGHT ANGLES
Definition:Ones who's measure adds up to 90 degrees

I never realized how much my iPhone was related to geometry, it has four 90 degree angles

Solution #1

On a graph I was doing angles and on one of them I came up to 42 degrees but then I got a protractor and went up to the 90 degree and I made me solution there

POINT
Definition: A point is an exact position or location on a plane surface

The sun is always a point in the sky

VERTICAL ANGLES
Definition: are the angles opposite from each other when two lines cross

The key board of my computer even has vertical angles on it!

Solution #1

The angles are congruent, on the internet I saw an example of vertical angles and the two opposite angles were 75 degrees, all the angles are supposed to add up to 360 degrees so the other two opposite angles are 105 degrees.

CIRCLE
Definition: is a set of all points in a plane that are equidistant

When i went to the beach I found a sea anemones and they were all in a shape of a circle,it was so cool!

RAY
Definition:A ray starts at a given point and goes off in a certain direction forever, to infinity.

In my notes I found an example of a ray, it has one point at the end of the line and then it goes on forever because it didn't have an end point.

My infinity bracelet has a starting point and it goes on forever, I guess that's why it's called an infinity bracelet

Collinear points
Definition:Three or more points that lie on the same straight line are called to be Collinear.

Three points (xi , yi , zi), where i = 1, 2, 3, are collinear if x2 - x1 : y2 - y1 : z2 - z1 = x3 - x1 : y3 - y1 : z3- z1.

The lights in the library are examples of Collinear points

End point
Definition:An End Point is a point at which a line segment or a ray ends.

Example:

A line segment has two end points.
A ray has one end point.

There are so many things around my house that have end points but i came across bendy straws to use as an end point

Line segment
Definition: a line segment is a part of a line that is bounded by two distinct end points, and contains every point on the line between its end points.

Surface area
Definition: Surface area is the total area that can be measured on the entire surface.

Example:

the surface area of a cube is 6 × (Edge Length)2

most of the techchnology i use has a surface area

because you can measure the entire surface

Volume
Definition: Volume is the measure of the amount of space inside of a solid figure, like a cube, ball, cylinder or pyramid.

Untitled Slide

you can measure the amount of space inside an ice cream cone it is also a right circular cone.

Centroid
Definition: point of concurrency of the three medians of a triangle

Untitled Slide

windmills are great examples of centroids because there are three concurrencys that all connect to the center of the windmill

Equidistant
Definition: same distance

Untitled Slide

equidistance reminded me of people running a race because they all have to run the same distance

Center
Definition:the point from which every point on the circle is equidistant

Untitled Slide

all flowers have a center point in it
