What do you know about geometry?

CAN YOU DRAW A...

  • Polygon
  • Triangle
  • Quadrilateral
  • Shape with symmetry
  • Shape without symmetry

Line: a straight path through points that continues in both directions

Line segment: a figure that has two endpoints

Ray: part of a line that has one endpoint & continues in the other direction

CAN YOU DRAW A...

  • Line
  • Line segment
  • Ray
  • Polygon with symmetry using all three

Parallel Lines: lines that never cross

Perpendicular Lines: lines that form a square corner

Where are the parallel lines?
Where are the perpendicular lines?

Angle: formed by two rays or line segments with the same endpoint

Right Angle: forms a square corner & a 90 degree angle

Straight Angle: forms a line

Acute Angle: smaller/ less than a right angle

Obtuse Angle: larger/ greater than a right angle but smaller/ less than a straight angle

DRAW A CITY WITH...

  • A fountain with vertical symmetry and rays of water coming out
  • A candy shop made of line segments with an acute roof angle
  • Two streets that are parallel to each other
  • A street that is perpendicular to the others
  • A slide showing an acute angle
  • An ice cream shop made of line segments with an obtuse angle roof
