What is a geohazard?
a geological state which has the potential to create widespread damage.

Examples of Geohazards

  • landslides/mudslide/avalanche
  • sinkhole
  • flooding/tsunami
  • volcanoes/earthquakes
  • drilling/fracking in overpressurized land

Every geohazard is different based on: composition of the land, rock types or tectonic activity, and the socioeconomic impact a hazard would have.
