ANTARCTICA

  • Transarctic Mountains:
  • The Transantarctic Mountains comprise a mountain range in Antarctica.
  • They go across the continent from Cape Adare in northern Victoria Land to Coats Land.
  • These mountains divide East Antarctica and West Antarctica.
  • The mountain range stretches between the Ross Sea and the Weddell Sea.

AUSTRALIA

  • Great Dividing Range:
  • They are also called the Eastern Highlands.
  • They are the third longest land-based range in the world.
  • They run the entire length of the eastern coastline.
  • The width of the range varies from about 160 km to over 300 km.

INDOcHINA

  • Indochina Peninsula:
  • A peninsula in Southeast Asia lying roughly southwest of China, and east of India.
  • The name has its origins in the French Indochine as a combination of the names of "India" and "China".
  • The majority of people in the region are neither Chinese nor Indian.
  • The term may also be used in biogeography for the "Indochinese Region".

MALAY PENINSULA

  • Titiwangas Mountains:
  • The main mountain range that forms the backbone of the Malay Peninsula.
  • The northern section of the range is in Southern Thailand.
  • It is known as Sankalakhiri Range.
  • The range acts as a natural divider.

POLYNESIA

  • Mount Ronui:
  • Mount Ronui is a shield volcano of 1332m.
  • It is one of the principal peaks on the island of Tahiti.
  • It is the highest in Tahiti Iti.
  • It is one of three volcanoes to which the formation of Tahiti is attributed.

INDONESIA

  • New Zealand:
  • It is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean.
  • It is made up of the North Island and the South Island.
  • New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres east of Australia.
  • New Zealand developed a distinctive biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life.
