MEKONG RIVER

  • 12 longest river in the world
  • Its source is the Lasagongma Spring in Mount Guozongmucha
  • Cambodians heavily rely on the Mekong River for their food supply
  • About 60 million people live in the Mekong River basin.

SALWEEN RIVER

  • Supports over 10 million people
  • One of the region’s last largely free-flowing rivers
  • Length of 2400km, Salween River is one of the longest rivers in the region
  • Flows through narrow, deep gorges between high hills

GREAT BARRIER REEF

  • Has more 1,500 species of fish
  • Approximately 400 species of coral
  • Worlds largest coral reef
  • A 1,250 chain of more than 2,500 reefs

GREAT DIVIDING RANGE

  • It comprises a series of plateaus and low mountain ranges
  • The range begins in the north on Cape York Peninsula, Queensland
  • Average elevation is 2,000–3,000 feet
  • Divides the East coast from the Outback

TRANSANTARCTIC RANGE

  • One of the longest mountain range in the world
  • extend from the tip of the Antarctic Peninsula to Cape Adar
  • The rocks include mostly a light, buff-colored sandstone-the Beacon Sandstone
  • It divides East and West Antarctica

STRAIT OF MALACCA
